Let's say you fulfil the wagering requirement with a bonus balance of $2,400 only to realize that your deposit bonus "carries a maximum withdrawal of 5x the deposit". In this case, on a $100 deposit, only $500 of the $2,400 balance can be withdrawn and the remaining $1,900 is lost. Every number in that example comes from terms published by casinos on our new casinos ranking. This guide shows you where to look for these clauses and how to find them in about a minute.
Win caps: the ceiling on what a bonus can pay
A win cap (also known as max cashout or release cap) sets the limit to what a bonus can win. On our roster they come in five variants:
- Multiples of the deposit. The commonest: OnlyWin releases at most 10x your deposit from its welcome stages, Wild Chance caps winnings at 10x the deposit, and WinSpin runs the tightest version we found - deposit bonuses carry a maximum withdrawal of 5x the deposit, and the terms state the balance above the cap "is forfeited manually". Somebody's job is deleting your overage.
- Multiples of the bonus. Wintino and Golisimo cap deposit-bonus withdrawals at 10x the bonus amount.
- Flat caps on free rewards. No-deposit spins cap at $120 at Wintino and Golisimo, and at EUR 50 at WinSpin. OnlyWin's welcome free spins cap at $160. Free money has the lowest ceilings on the page.
- Persistent caps. Most caps die with the bonus. Oxibet's 10x win cap is written to persist beyond bonus completion, and Lussurio pairs a persistent max-cashout with a rule that any withdrawal resets its house-currency balance and free spins to zero. Read whether the ceiling ends when the wagering does.
- Caps on winners generally. The rarest and sharpest: Oxibet's standard withdrawal allowance of $10,000 a month drops to $5,000 a month for accounts whose balance reaches 10x their deposits. That clause has nothing to do with bonuses - it is a slower lane specifically for people who are ahead. How allowance ladders and monthly caps work in general is mapped in our withdrawal limits guide.
A cap is wagering's quieter substitute. WinSpin's famous no-wager free spins are real and live under the same low-ceiling regime. When nothing limits the winnings on the way in, something limits them on the way out. SpinSkull makes this trade in plain sight: its free-spin winnings carry no wagering and are capped at EUR 5,000, which is by far the most honest version on our roster.
Max-bet clauses: the tripwire
While a bonus is active, a maximum bet applies per spin or round, and on our roster it runs from $3 to $150:
| Casino | Max bet with bonus | Win cap | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|---|
| WinSpin | EUR 3 | 5x deposit; balance above "forfeited manually" | Cap applies while any bonus is active, real-money bets included |
| Bombastic | $5 | Spin winnings capped per offer | $4,000 of turnover at $5 a spin is 800 spins minimum |
| SpinSkull | EUR 5 | FS winnings EUR 5,000, no wagering | 48-hour window makes the low cap a pace limiter too |
| Wild Chance | EUR 5 | 10x deposit; spins EUR 100 | 45x the bonus in 5 days under a EUR 5 bet ceiling |
| OnlyWin | $7 | 10x deposit; spins $160 | Same family rules as Wild Chance |
| Oxibet | $10, bonus buys and doubling included | 10x, persistent | Monthly withdrawals halve once balance hits 10x deposits |
| Wintino / Golisimo | $150 | 10x the bonus | The loosest bet ceiling on the roster, on the strictest cashier |

Three factors determine if you triggered the bet limit:
- What counts as a bet. Oxibet spells out that bonus buys and doubling features count against its $10 limit. Feature-buy players trip max-bet clauses constantly, because one buy is priced like fifty spins.
- When the clause applies. WinSpin's EUR 3 cap applies while any bonus sits on the account - including bets made with real money. Parking a small bonus you never intend to use still caps your whole session.
- The penalty. The standard consequence across the roster is voiding the bonus and its winnings. There is no warning bet and no partial penalty; the first over-limit spin is the whole fine.
Maximum bets also affect the time limit of the wagering. Our wagering guide shows that a requirement is shown as turnover divided by days; a bet limit caps how fast that turnover can be physically achieved. A short time, a high wagering requirement and low max-bet can all combine to schedule thousands of spins, which no player is likely to do. This is the intention of the design, and our bonus economics guide shows who this protects.
The pre-play checklist
- Find the cap sentence. Search the bonus policy for "maximum withdrawal", "max cashout" and "capped". Convert it to dollars on your actual deposit before you claim anything.
- Find the max bet. Search for "maximum bet" and "per round". Check whether bonus buys and doubles are named.
- Check the cap's lifespan. Does it end when wagering completes, or is it written to persist? One word changes what a win is worth.
- Check the withdrawal interaction. Some terms void an active bonus on any withdrawal request; one on our roster keeps the forfeit even if the request is cancelled. Finish or forfeit deliberately, never accidentally.
- Screenshot the offer. Caps and limits live in modals and expire with campaigns. Your screenshot is the only record of the deal you actually took.
All five fit into the six-jump terms reading method if you want the complete routine.
Win caps and max bets FAQ
What is a max cashout on a casino bonus?
A limit on how much money a bonus can convert to, no matter what you win while the bonus is active. Typical versions on our roster are 5x or 10x your deposit for deposit bonuses, and flat caps of $50 - $160 for free spins and no-deposit rewards. Anything you win above the limit is forfeited when you withdraw.
Can a casino really confiscate winnings above the cap?
Those terms are quite clear, and state exactly that, before you make your deposit. One casino we reviewed says that balance above their 5x cap "is forfeited manually". How enforceable those types of terms would be in a certain region's law is a different question, but in practice the cap is applied at withdrawal, and due diligence to find and understand it must be done before you claim the reward.
What happens if I bet over the maximum bet with a bonus?
Typically the published penalty for the over-limit bonus is the void: the bonus and all winnings made because of the bonus are removed, starting from the first over-limit bet. Be careful to look for policies that include bonus buys and doubling features in the limit, and for policies that apply the cap to all bets while a bonus is still active on your account.
Are no-wagering bonuses really free of strings?
The wagering string is truly absent; a limit usually is substituted. The no-wager spins we found are available under some of the lowest win caps on the site and one casino caps no-wager free-spin winnings at a flat EUR 5,000 and says so plainly. No-wager offers are still typically a good deal; just factor the win cap in as the cost.
Play responsibly
Gambling is entertainment with a cost, never a way to make money. Win caps make that literal: even the luckiest session has a printed maximum, so chasing a big number through a capped bonus is chasing money the terms have already reclaimed. Set your ceiling before the casino's, and treat every bonus as spending, not income.
